This evening Aphra Brandreth attended the Barnes Police Liaison Group Meeting at the Castelnau Community Centre. Aphra was joined at the meeting by fellow Conservative Candidate for Barnes, Sara Gezdari. Local Police reported that thefts from cars have risen sharply locally with a particular issue of Catalytic Converter thefts. At the meeting Aphra raised the concerns shared by local residents about safety when crossing Hammersmith Bridge late at night.
Aphra is highlighting Street Safe - an online tool where you can report areas where you feel unsafe. More information can be found at www.police.uk/pu/notices/streetsafe/street-safe/
StreetSafe is a pilot service for anyone to anonymously tell the police about public places where you have felt or feel unsafe, because of environmental issues, eg street lighting, abandoned buildings or vandalism and/or because of some behaviours, eg being followed or verbally abused.
