Aphra Brandreth joined a panel of experts to discuss Campaigning on the Environment organised by the Conservative Environment Network in association with the Conservative Councillors' Association. Aphra spoke about why environmental action is a natural fit with conservative values and highlighted some initiatives councillors and candidates can implement, including community orchards and rain gardens.
The panel was chaired by Caitie Gillett, the Clean Air Programme Manager at the Conservative Environment Network. The other panelists were Andrew Selous MP, the Conservative MP for South West Bedfordshire since 2001 and a member of the CEN Parliamentary caucus; Cllr Holly Whitbread, a councillor on Essex County Council where she is Deputy Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care; Anthony Lee, the Director of Campaigning at the Conservative Party Headquarters (CCHQ); and Ben Green, External Affairs Officer for the Woodland Trust Central Region.
